Born and raised In Hawaii. Born in Maui, schooling in Kailua, Oahu. College LA Community College, lived on the Big island of Hawaii (Kailua-Kona) 35 years before coming to San Diego.
Ronnie's parents were musicians, with nine brothers and sisters who were also entertainers on Oahu in the late 50' and early 60's. Ronnie was Most Talented at Kailua High for 3 years. He had the ukulele always around while growing up. He says that he has "played the uke as long as I can remember".
Ronnie now has been performing around San Diego for 3 years. He also established and conducts the San Diego section of the Ukulele Society of America. He also teaches "ukulele" at New Expressions Music, San Diego. He also plays Bass and Guitar, and plays "Stand -up Bass with Peter Ruthman Jazz Band, in San Diego.
Being a musician for 35 years in Hawaii, mainly as a "solo" on the the island of Maui, at Kaanapali and Lahaina. Also on the Big Island in Kona; the Hilton, the Keauhou Beach Hotel, the Marriott Waikoloa, the Tyrone Young Polynesian Luau Show, on the Akikane Catamarans Sunset Cruise, and in Kailua-Kona.
Ronnie's other fellow musicians played mainly on Oahu, in Waikiki. LIke Ronnie, they have been in San Diego for about 5 years. "Quintinn Holi", his partner and conductor for The San Diego Ukulele Society section, has been a well known musician in Waikiki for many years. He wrote his original song, "Kole Kole Pass".
